If it’s all about artificial intelligence, then Amazon’s much anticipated second North American headquarters is headed to Beantown.
This article on CNN.com says that Wells Fargo Securities’ stock-picking robot, Aiera, has determined that Amazon will select Boston for its $5 billion HQ2.
In a research note, Wells Fargo said that based on all of its measures “it is fair to characterize [Boston] as what the broader public and the market believes will happen when Amazon announces their decision later this year…Behind Boston, Aiera selected the following cities in order: Chicago, Atlanta, New York City and Toronto.”
Apparently, Aiera is not the only one.
According to the article, earlier this year, Irish gambling site Paddy Power gave the city 3-to-1 odds of winning the second headquarters. Other favorites include Austin and Atlanta, which both had odds of 7-to-2.
Who says it’s nothing more than an economic development sweepstakes?
