CNBC reported this week that Amazon has visited all of the remaining 20 sites still in contention for the massive HQ2, new North American headquarters project.
The 20 areas are: Toronto, Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, Denver, Nashville, Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, Boston, New York City, Newark, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Montgomery County in Maryland, Washington D.C., Raleigh, Northern Virginia, Atlanta, Miami.
In the meantime, Arlington, TX officials discussed this week why their city is not on the list of finalists.
“I think they’re looking for a more advanced urban setting,” Mayor Jeff Williams told CNNMoney.
Still, Williams is pleased Arlington was a finalist. He hopes the proposed site will attract another corporation to relocate to the city. “[As a result of the process], we hope we will see a lot of other businesses who want to consider Arlington,” Williams said. “It’s confirmation of how great our city is.”
