The Boston Business Journal is out with a sneak peek at the new corporate headquarters for GE being developed along the South Boston waterfront.

“The headquarters campus is a renovation of the historic brick-and-beam warehouses at 5 and 6 Necco St. Those warehouses were originally home to the New England Confectionary Co. and were most recently used as field offices for the Big Dig decades ago.”

“The two warehouses, which now stand as separate buildings, will be connected by a glass enclosure and span a combined 95,400 square feet. The office — dubbed “North Point” — will house between 250 and 280 GE employees, including CEO John Flannery, by mid-year 2019.”

GE has about 235 employees and contractors at its interim Farnsworth Street headquarters now. At full buildout, the Innovation Point campus is expected to house 200 corporate executives plus 600 other workers, according to the Business Journal.
